England Under-18 scored seven tries in beating Australia Schools 46-1`9 at St Ignatius, Riverview in Sydney on Saturday.

This was the third match of England's three-match tour of Australia. They beat and Australian Invitational Under-19 side 19-8 in their first match and then Australian A Schools 27-0.

The platform for England's victory over Australian Schools was built in the first half when England scored five of their tries. but the Australians then scored 14 unanswered points in the second half to bring the score to 36-19 with 15 minutes to play. But England secured the big win with a penalty and converted try.

Coach John Fletcher said afterwards: “The first half was as good as it gets. I knew we were that capable. We often train like that, but to do it when it really mattered was really pleasing.

“we've left some good players at home and we had three unavailable to select because of injury but today was about the boys on the park. It was an outstanding performance.”
