Sevens at the Cape

Published: Sunday, 4. September, 2011 in category Southern Hemisphere

It's spring. There are new leaves on the oaks and sevens in many places. The Cape welcomes the spring but at the same times seems reluctant to let got of the winter and so extends the rugby season. The father of them all is the Villager Sevens.

The tournament there signals bad weather and lots of fun, as it has done for 43 years. There are others.

Go to Rondebosch on Friday and see the Under-10s playing Sevens. Go to SACS on Saturday and the Under-13s, Under12s and Under-11s are playing Sevens. And all of these tour naments are run so well, it is a privilege to be there and testimony to the enthusiasm of so many schoolmasters.
