New recruit to start for Bulls

Recent recruit Jacques Potgieter has been included in the Blue Bulls team to play Western Province in Currie Cup competition on Saturday.

Potgieter, who joined the Pretoria outfit earlier this month, will earn a first start at flank in place of Warwick Tecklenburg in the only change to the side that drew with the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last weekend.

Coach Pine Pienaar said he is looking for Potgieter’s abrasive play on attack to help his side getting back to winning ways at Loftus Versfeld.

"Jacques is a strong ball carrier and I am looking forward to his contributions," Pienaar said.

"We will have to be very accurate in all phases though and defence will also have to be a big focus against Western Province.

"They do use the ball well and whoever dominates the collisions, will probably win the game. We need to play hard and play clever,” Pienaar added.
