    The USA Men's Eagle Sevens team took out Zimbabwe 26-0 in the Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa Sevens bowl quarterfinals, but fell to Canada 12-22 in the semis to bow out of the tournament with five Series points and 17 points total on the season.

    Irving F. "Bud" Lyons III, who played rugby for the Golden Bears from 1968-71, ending with the team's legendary tour Down Under in the summer of 1971 under coach Miles "Doc" Hudson, has accepted the chairmanship of the California Rugby Advisory Board.

    The USA Men's Eagle Sevens team went 1-2 on day one of the Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa Sevens, the third stop on the HSBC Sevens World Series with a win over Argentina (21-14) and losses to Samoa (12-14) and England (7-26). The USA will take on Zimbabwe in the bowl quarterfinal tomorrow (Saturday December 10) at 4:16 a.m. ET.
