The Heineken Cup is the rugby equivalent to the UEFA Champions League. The European tournament includes the top teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.
The tournament opens with a group stage of 6 pools. The top finisher from each pool along with the top 2 second place finishers advance to the quarterfinals.
