Scotland will have veteran prop Euan Murray available when they travel to Cardiff on Saturday, for their Round Two Six Nations encounter with Wales.

The Northampton Saints star, who missed Sunday's disappointing 9-18 defeat to France due to his religious beliefs, is one of 12 players to have been added to the Scotland squad preparing for the game at the Millennium Stadium.

Supplementing the 22 who were on duty in Edinburgh against France are Mike Blair, Ben Cairns, Nick De Luca and Jim Hamilton (all Edinburgh), Dougie Hall, Ruaridh Jackson and Dan Parks (Glasgow Warriors), Scott Gray and Euan Murray (Northampton Saints), Simon Danielli (Ulster), Rory Lamont (Toulon) and Nikki Walker (Ospreys).

The Scots are assessing the fitness of six players who picked up knocks during the loss at Murrayfield.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said he would be monitoring the progress of John Beattie (hip bruising), Kelly Brown (shoulder strain), Thom Evans (calf bruising), Nathan Hines (calf strain), Graeme Morrison (leg bruising) and Chris Paterson (calf bruising).

The Scotland team to play Wales is due to be announced on Tuesday.

Scotland coach Andy Robinson will consider changes after a poor defensive showing against the French.

With the front row under-performing, the case for Murray's return is strong, while fellow prop Allan Jacobsen, a replacement at the weekend, will also be in with a chance of a starting place.
