Sarries, who currently play at Watford's Vicarage Road ground, initially submitted a planning application for their future home to Barnet Council in March, but consultation with residents, supporters, statutory bodies and stakeholders led to a new proposal being put forward in September.
The main points of the improved application centred on improved provisions for matchday transport, including coach services from Hertfordshire and shuttle services from local rail and underground stations.
It is hoped the new transport plans will reduce the number of people travelling to the ground by car to 36%.
And in a letter to Barnet Council quoted on the Saracens website, RFU head of funding and facilities Simon Winman said: ""To attract and retain participants, we need to provide an enjoyable and quality environment both on and off the field.
"So we offer our strongest support for the proposals in establishing a sustainable rugby venue for the community and professional game at Barnet Copthall Stadium."
The stadium is set to incorporate demountable stands on three sides for Saracens home games, as well as an artificial pitch, and would also continue to be home to Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers athletics club.
