Narraway: Scores a Gloucester try

An impressive Saints performance snapped a run of two straight defeats, and the hosts will have been disappointed not to take a bonus point such was their dominance.

Lee Dickson, George Pisi and Phil Dowson crossed for the hosts with the boot of Ryan Lamb also adding 15 points, while Ernst Joubert popped up with Sarries' consolation try late on.

Saracens had no answer to the Saints' first-half onslaught and the game was as good as over as a contest by half-time with the hosts leading 27-3.

Leicester gave their campaign much-needed impetus by condemning Gloucester to a third successive home defeat in all competitions after a narrow 19-14 success.

The Tigers, in an unfamiliar 11th place before kick-off, prevailed through second-half tries by England fly-half Toby Flood and Samoan wing Alesana Tuilagi.

Flood added three penalties, with his England half-back partner Ben Youngs relieved that a glaring blunder - a reckless pass intercepted by captain Luke Narraway that produced Gloucester's solitary touchdown - did not cost Leicester dear.

Fly-half Freddie Burns booted three penalties during a tight and tense encounter, but Gloucester again finished second best on home soil following losses to Saracens and Harlequins.

Tom Homer's boot provided all the points London Irish needed as they saw off derby rivals Wasps 21-17 in an attritional game.

A solitary try from wing Christian Wade in the last minute to get a losing bonus point was the only time either side's line was breached as home full-back Homer kicked seven penalties against four from Wasps fly-half Nicky Robinson.

Irish were missing four players, all of whom have been suspended for dangerous or high tackles, including England full-back Delon Armitage and centre Shontayne Hape.

But that was no excuse for the soulless, lame encounter in which both sides had decent defences but neither had the ability to unlock the door and find a way of scoring a try until Wade, helped by team-mate Tom Varndell, managed it late on.
