London Wasps have added Russian duo Vladislav Korshunov and Victor Gresev to their squad until the end of the season as Dai Young's team look to revive their flagging campaign.

Korshunov, the Russian captain and hooker, will provide cover for Rob Webber who is in the England Elite Player Squad, while Gresev, a powerful ball-carrying No.8, will provide strength in depth to the loose trio, an area significantly affected by the club's current injury list.

Korshunov, who has 57 caps for Russia, skippered his side at last year’s World Cup. The 28-year-old comes with a wealth of experience and will provide support to the key front row position.

Gresev, the Russian player of the year in 2011, was a driving force behind his country's World Cup debut earning wide praise for his rampaging performances at No.8.

He was named man of the match against Italy and Australia, games in which Russia displayed considerable resilience in defeat. The St. Petersburg-born player made it onto the IRB's forwards-of-the-tournament list alongside the likes of Thierry Dusautoir and Richie McCaw.

Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: "These are two players who impressed at the World Cup and they will add strength in depth to the squad for the rest of the season giving us options in key areas."
