Both Connacht's Mike McCarthy and London Irish's Steve Shingler will attend hearings following dangerous tackles made in the second round of European Cup action.

McCarthy will face up to judicial officer Roger Morris in Dublin on Wednesday, November 23 after he was cited for his tackle on Toulouse wing Vincent Clerc in the first half of their clash at the Sportsground on Saturday for which he received a yellow card.

London Irish centre Shingler will attend his hearing on Friday, November 18 as a result of the red card he received for a dangerous tackle on Cardiff Blues centre, Dafydd Hewitt in their match at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday.

Under the IRB Recommended Sanctions for Offences Committed within the Playing Enclosure, Law 10.4(e) carries the following penalties: Low End: two weeks; Mid Range: six weeks; Top End: 10+ to 52 weeks.
