Munster coach Tony McGahan has revealed that he is taking nothing for granted ahead of his side's clash with the Scarlets despite still being unbeaten in this season's Heineken Cup.
The two-times European champions have three wins from three games and are in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages of this season's tournament.
Munster, who are on the verge of a place in the last eight for the first time in two seasons, host the Scarlets at Thomond Park on Sunday after beating the Welsh outfit away last week.
Despite the confidence gained from that victory McGahan is refusing to rest on his laurels.
"I don't have any good feelings in Heineken Cup weeks, to be honest," McGahan said.
"Where we are, where the pool is and the other sides that are in it, we are as fearful now as we were going into round one with Northampton, that's where it's at," he explained.
Munster are determined not to waste the good work they have done thus far by sitting back and waiting for Scarlets on Sunday, and McGahan explained that thoughts of the knock-out phase of the tournament are far from his mind.
He said: "We know things can get tipped either way and we could undo all the good work and all the fight and all the work we've contributed over the last three games. We know this is just where it's at for this weekend.
"I don't know if we have the ability to be looking too far ahead and I don't think we should be. There is a lot of fear for this game and we certainly recognise what Scarlets can do and what they can bring," added McGahan.
Scarlets have been on good form this season and they would have been disappointed with the standard of their performance last week, so the Munster boss is expecting them to come out swinging.
"We know they would like to be better than they were on Saturday, with their own execution.
"We're looking for our best performance on the weekend, and we're looking to get that out on Sunday, and I believe we probably need to, to get a result at home," he explained.
