Ospreys head coach Sean Holley has pledged his side will not give up hope of reaching the quarterfinals of either the Heineken Cup or Amlin Challenge Cup.

His side picked up their first bonus point of the season with a six try haul in the 44-17 victory over against Benetton Treviso on Friday.

The win not only avenged the 26-26 draw in Italy, but also threw the Welsh region a lifeline ahead of their trip to Biarritz next Sunday.

But to make the clash with the French side all the more meaningful Holley is hoping Pool 5 leaders Saracens don't pick up anything from Sunday's home game against Biarritz. If the English champions win, then they will move into the last eight of the Heineken Cup.

"We will take a lot of confidence from the way we played against Treviso and it was great to pick up our first try bonus point of the season. And while there is still hope of going further in Europe, we will give it our best shot," said Holley.

"There could be a Heineken Cup quarter-final place up for grabs, or a ticket into the last eight of the Amlin Challenge Cup. There are also ERC Ranking points at stake.

"We just want to go to Biarritz and keep on playing the way we did tonight and keep on improving. We changed the way we played slightly and it was a much more open and fluent performance.

"We were clearly disappointed at the two defeats in the fortnight of games against Saracens, especially after dominating possession in the game at home."
