International Sevens will return to Zimbabwean soil after a lengthy lay-off, when the country hosts an array of teams this weekend, March 3 and 4, at the Harare Sports Club.
The tournament comes at an important time for Zimbabwe Sevens, as they seek to grow on the international stage.
On the IRB Sevens World Series Zimbabwe have been rewarded for their successful performances over the last few years by being invited to five of the nine tournaments in the 2011-2012 season.
These tournaments are Dubai, Port Elizabeth (South Africa), Hong Kong (March 23 to 25), Glasgow (May 5 and 6) and London (May 12 and 13).
The upcoming Zimbabwean Sevens tournament will be a vital platform for the national team's development.
The confirmed teams for the tournament are Zimbabwe Cheetahs, Zimbabwe Goshawks, Emerging Springboks, Zambia, Mpumalanga Pumas, South African
Buffalos, Northern Region, Zambia and Botswana.
