Sevens World Series Rugby News

The IRB Sevens World Series is the annual series of international rugby union sevens tournaments that are hosted around the globe and draws the top teams.  The rugby teams compete for the overall title by accumulating points based on their finishing position in each tournament.  The event has nine stops - Gold Coast Sevens, Dubai Sevens, South Africa Sevens, Wellington Sevens, USA Sevens, Hong Kong Sevens, Japan Sevens, Scotland Sevens, London Sevens.

    The USA Men’s Eagle Sevens team lost a nail-biter to Australia in the USA Sevens bowl semifinal after a dominant 21-5 win over France in the bowl quarters. The win over France was the Eagles’ only ‘W’ of the tournament, but a 1-4 record in Vegas perhaps doesn’t represent the progress the team showed in front of their home crowd.
