Robinson: Upset by England in October

On Tueday Robinson refused to back down from his comments that England had shown arrogance during October's final Pool B match, which Scotland lost to a last-gasp Chris Ashton try.

Robinson and his players were upset by England's behaviour during and after the game, with the Scotland head coach admitting he cited Delon Armitage for a dangerous tackle in the game as a result.

And the former England boss admitted he would have no qualms raising the issue again in the dressing room before the sides' Six Nations opener a week on Saturday.

He said: "You use every emotion. That is what rugby is about.

"It's an emotional game, it's a passionate game, it's a physical game and you've got to channel all that into your performance and that's what we'll be drawing on in the lead-up to the game."

New Scotland captain Ross Ford insisted the only way to earn England's respect would be by outplaying them next weekend.

"There's been a lot written about it," he said.

"It is what it is. For me, the focus now is about earning respect from teams by our performances.

"That starts from us delivering on the pitch.

"That's the only way, for me, now the team moves forward."

Robinson, meanwhile, would not be drawn on Wales' decision to draft Aaron Shingler into their pre-tournament training camp.

Asked whether he thought it was a political move amid the eligibility row between Wales and Scotland over Shingler's brother Steve, Robinson simply said: "He's a good player."
