Flood: Knee ligament injury

Flood, who has been sidelined since New Year's Day with a knee ligament injury, is primed to make his comeback in the Tigers' LV= Cup match against Newcastle.

England interim coach Stuart Lancaster has told Flood he must prove his fitness in a club game before he will be considered for an international recall.

Charlie Hodgson will start at fly-half for England against Scotland on Saturday, with inside centre Owen Farrell to provide the back-up.

England tackle Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday, February 11.

Lancaster is set to be without Leicester centre Manu Tuilagi (hamstring) and Northampton lock Courtney Lawes, who will not be in LV= Cup action this weekend.

A Leicester victory over Newcastle tomorrow will secure the Tigers a place in the semi-finals of the Anglo-Welsh cup competition for the first time since 2008.
