Two prominent Old Kingswoodian are deservedly making headlines! Both have been picked to play in the Six Nations championships this weekend.

Prop Brett Wilkinson was selected to the Irish training squad ahead of this weekend's Wales clash, whilst David Denton has been selected to start at No.8 for Scotland in the Calcutta Cup match this weekend against England at Murrayfield.

Brett, a powerful scrummager who matriculated from Kingswood in 2002, has been close to playing for Ireland on numerous occasions, having always been pipped at the post. He will, however, have to wait his turn a little longer despite playing for Ireland's second team - the Wolfhounds - last week and, again, this weekend.

But David - who as a flank was part of that brilliant Kingswood side of 2008 which suffered only one loss, 8-6 against St Andrew's College on K-Day - is starting for the Scots against the Auld Enemy, England, who have in their ranks two Kearsney Old Boys, prop Matt Stevens and centre Brad Barritt, with a third South African, Mouritz Botha, hailing from Vryheid.

Denton will follow in the footsteps of Henry Walker, Bennie Osler, Stanley Osler, Jack Slater, Jack Dobie and Colin Kroon (all South Africa), Ryan Grobler (USA) and Fabian Juries (one of SA's greatest Sevens stars) as being scholars of Kingswood College, Grahamstown and who have played international rugby.
