Western Province have re-acquired the services of utility back Joe Pietersen who has signed a two year deal with the Cape team after he spent a year with French Top 14 side Bayonne.
Before leaving for France Pietersen played 56 matches for Western Province, scoring 345 points and 21 matches for the Stormers scoring 107 points in total.
The versatile backline player is comfortable playing at fullback and on the wing, while he also has experience playing at flyhalf - a position that has given Province management their fair share of headaches in recent times.
Pietersen showed great form for the Stormers in their 2010 Super Rugby campaign and they will be hoping he can hit a similar vein of form in next year's competition.
The speedy Grey College old boy battled with injury in his time with Bayonne and as a result had very few opportunities in their starting XV, playing only four times for the French club and scoring one try.
He will join up with the Stormers when they meet on December 1 to begin their pre-season training.
