Springbok centre Juan de Jongh has signed a three-year contract extension with the Stormers as he believes that the Cape side is perfectly poised to claim some silverware.

The dynamic midfielder has stayed loyal to the only professional team he has ever played for and explained that it was not a very difficult decision to commit until 2015.

Yes I have committed to the union for the next three years," he said.

"For me it was not a very difficult decision as I've played all my senior rugby at Western Province and I've grown up as a WP and Stormers supporter."

De Jongh said that on top of feeling at home with the Stormers he is convinced that the exciting blend of youth and experience at the franchise will reap rich rewards in the near future.

He added: "The spirit that I've experienced (here) in the last few years has been unbelievable.

"The things that I've learnt, the culture and the spirit in the team is incredible and hopefully if we all pull together, and lots of young players have signed on (here) as well, this core group is going to get even stronger and perhaps in three or four years we can bring some silverware home," said De Jongh.
