Toulon are hoping to sign England lock Simon Shaw as injury cover for South African Bakkies Botha, the French Top 14 side said on Sunday.
Botha, 32, signed a three-year deal with Toulon in the summer but is currently sidelined after returning from the World Cup in New Zealand with an Achilles tendon injury.
London Wasps lock Shaw was in the stands on Saturday as Toulon beat Brive 18-3.
The French club have already contacted Wasps with a view to bringing the 38-year-old Shaw on board.
