Brive have acquired former Shark Riaan Swanepoel, a sturdy threequarter, as a medical joker.
Wing Jacques Boussuge has injured a knee at the start of the week and his future is uncertain. As a result Swanepoel has come into the Brive squad to face Racing-Métro.
Originally 25-year-old Swanepoel signed a short-term contract with Clermont as a 'World Cup joker", for the club had several players in New Zealand.
Brive have been much plagued by injury - Mathieu Belie, Agustin Figuerola, Victor Laval, Guillaume Ribes, Guillaume Namy, Vincent Forgues, Petrus Hauman, Clément Marienval, Yann Fior, Simon Azoulai, Nicolas Jeanjean and Shane Geraghty.
